Primary Care Psychology
Our expert team of behavioral health providers deliver a full range
of mental and behavioral health services for patients and their
families. We promote physical and mental wellbeing by using
evidence-based techniques to assess and treat a wide range of concerns,
including stress/burnout, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, weight
concerns, smoking, and managing chronic pain and illness. We recognize
that there is no “one size fits all” approach and adapt our
recommendations and interventions to the preferences, needs, culture,
and social contexts of our patients. We work as a part of your
healthcare team along with your primary care provider (PCP), to
facilitate physical and mental wellness.
Behavioral
health providers offer in-person and virtual behavioral health services
to patients who are established with a PCP at a CU Medicine Family
Medicine clinic. Our in-person visits are at the same location where you
meet with their PCP. As integrated members of your healthcare team, we
offer short-term psychotherapy typically ranging from 1 to 8 visits
depending on your needs. We use the latest research-supported approaches
to teach you new ways of responding to challenges that you can practice
in your everyday life. Based on treatment recommendation or patient
preference, we also can refer patients to specialists and other
behavioral health providers in the community for ongoing care.
