Provider Expertise

Clinical Interest for Patients

I provide comprehensive care for patients with heart rhythm problems.

Care Philosophy

In the highly technology-driven specialty of clinical cardiac electrophysiology, I strive to provide patient-centered care based on the highest quality scientific evidence, best clinical practices, and effective communication in the framework of shared decision making. Together, these principles allow me to empower patients to make informed, autonomous arrhythmia care decisions consistent with their personal goals and values.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers

As a board-certified clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, I provide comprehensive care for patients wtih heart rhythm disorders, including clinical consultation, arrhythmia device implantation and management, and invasive management of complex cardiac arrhythmias.

Research Interest for Referring Providers

My interests broadly center on the measurement and improvement of quality of care among patients with arrhythmias and arrhythmia devices. As a recipient of a Research Career Development Award from the VA Office of Health Services Research and Development (VA HSR&D) I specifically focused on real-world outcomes among veterans with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). I serve in several national roles both with the Veterans Health Administration, as well as through professional societies such as the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association related to implantable arrhythmia device and heart rhythm care with regard to clinical and research registry leadership and development, development of clinical guidelines, appropriate use criteria, and performance measurement in cardiac electrophysiology.
